SONEX® UNILAYER SYSTEM

SONEX® Unilayer Acoustic Test Solutions For Anechoic Chambers

Traditional acoustic test facilities and anechoic chambers require the use of highly absorptive acoustic products on the walls, ceilings and floors to achieve an echo-free environment. pinta's SONEX Unilayer System features SONEX Super or SONEX Max Wedges and provides an effective sound control solution for any test environment with measurement according to ISO 3745 precision method. With the SONEX Unilayer System, a cut off frequency of 63 Hz or higher can be achieved with either SONEX Super Wedges or SONEX Max Wedges.

SONEX Super Wedges are 6" thick and have a symmetric pattern of peaks and valleys that efficiently trap the sound energy before it is reflected back into the room. When installed, these wedges are seamless in appearance and have an NRC of 1.10.

If a SONEX Unilayer System with wedges thicker than 6" is required for a desired cut-off frequency, SONEX Max Wedges are the solution. (See photo shown above in polyurethane foam.) Memtech Acoustical's technical sales staff can assist with the determination of the exact thickness needed to achieve the desired level of performance for the test space. All SONEX Max Wedges are custom designed for each application but are very similar in appearance and function to the SONEX Super Wedges.

Installation of the SONEX Unilayer System is quick and easy. Both SONEX Super and SONEX Max can be adhered with pinta acoustic's acouSTIC adhesive. Additional mechanical fasteners may be required depending on the application.

In addition to meeting all acoustic requirements, the wedges made with pinta's exclusive willtec® material meet Class 1 fire-rated building codes. Wedges produced with polyurethane foam are also an option. However, fire and building code issues will need to be resolved prior to installation.
